Emily Dickson is doctoral candidate at the University of Western Ontario at the Centre for Theory and Criticism. Her dissertation interrogates art historical Formalism, arguing that Formalism represents a historically rich and diverse set of methodological approaches rich in possibility in and for the present day. Her recent publications include “A tale of two marcels: Tracing a bureaucratic aesthetics in Duchamp, Broodthaers” in Duchamp Accelerated: Contemporary Approaches (2024).
